OCPJ is hosting filmmaker Catherine Murphy and showings of her film MAESTRA (2012) at events in the community and on campus.
Narrated by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker, MAESTRA is an award-winning documentary of nine women who, as young girls, volunteered in the 1961 Cuban Literacy Campaign.
A panel discussion on Cuba and the opening of relations with the US with Catherine and Miami faculty follows.
This is an official OCPJ event. Munchies will be available.
